What is NetVibes
NetVibes is a Web 2.0 enabled Web portal, intended for individual use. It is organized into tabs, each able to contain a user-defined module.
Netvibes offers built in modules including an RSS/Atom feed reader, local weather forecasts, calendar, bookmarks, notes, to-do lists, multiple searches, email support, Box.net web storage, Delicious, Meebo, Flickr photos, podcasts with a built in audio player, and video support.
A page can use pre-defined themes or be customized by more sophisticated users.
Customized tabs, feeds and modules can be shared with others individually or via the Netvibes Ecosystem.
Applications of NetVibes
NetVibes can be used to consolidate an individual's frequently visited Websites as a time saving measure. It can also be used to create a homepage on a personal computer's Web browser. The customization features provide a great deal of power and flexibility and make it suitable for the development of a 'class' homepage as well.
History
The company was founded by Tariq Krim (French) and Florent Frémont in 2005.
